ABOUT HIDDEN HERITAGE
Hidden Heritage is an initiative that seeks to explore and examine the built heritage of our country beyond the beaten path of known destinations. It seeks to showcase the narrative of places that are obscure and people who have been forgotten.
Arjun Kumar, the founder of Hidden Heritage, is a history and heritage enthusiast, columnist and brand strategy consultant. He has been a brand manager for The Times of India, CNN-IBN and The Economic Times and writes across media platforms.
At TOI, among his varied responsibilities, he led a revival of the ‘Times Passion Trails’ division, focused on giving a fillip to domestic tourism to various destinations within the country, and enabled state tourism boards to showcase new destinations and experiences to a national audience. Notable in these efforts were a tribal trail in Madhya Pradesh, a cuisine trail in Rajasthan and a series of talks for Gujarat, the last one coming at the peak of the pandemic when physical travel was still curtailed.
He is passionate about heritage and culture and works with various organizations to drive attention and footfalls to less-known destinations. He also curates art on heritage related themes.
